About Campground

Our private campground is right on the Kern River and has all of your favorite family camping amenities. Looking for something to do? We have activities for the whole family! Whether you are excited about rafting on the world famous Kern River, cruising the trails on a mountain bike, or just joining us for a quiet weekend of camping and relaxing we welcome you to Mountain and River Adventures.

Our camp is privately owned and has 37 camp sites, with plenty of elbow room. MRA’s tent camping sites provide access to deluxe restrooms, hot showers, potable drinking water located conveniently throughout camp, picnic tables, and fire pits. Located along the banks of the Kern River, you can enjoy immediate river access for fishing, our horseshoe pits, shuffleboard court, volleyball, or you can just relax in our shady grove after a great day of adventures on the Kern River.

Our day use area, fondly known as Bud’s Grove is a popular event venue with the Kern River Valley locals. For larger groups, consider renting our group gathering area, Bull Run Pavilion, and granite boulder outdoor amphitheater.

Had SUCH a good time at this campsite. Came with friends for my birthday in August. Hosts were exceptional- very attentive and reliable! Loved Grant & Michelle. The campsite has everything you need in terms of clean bathrooms, showers, activities, snacks & drinks. This was my second time attending and can’t wait to be back! :) hoping

We stayed 3 nights in the Lofty Oak site. It seemed to be one of the best sties and we loved it. The hosts were awesome and very helpful. The campground location couldn't be better. River right there, minutes to town and services. The place had a grassy area to place lawn games and sandy areas to hang out. Lots of trees and plenty of shade everywhere. A very nice amphitheater where my 9 year old held a show for us. Bathrooms were very nice (need a few more) and kept clean and stocked throughout the day. All in all a wonderful and relaxing place to place to camp and enjoy the river.

Gorgeous campground on the river. Gated entrance, nicely lit, with common spaces including a beach volleyball net and lawn games. Showers (coin operated) were hot and just what I needed on a cooler fall morning. The gift shop is also not to be missed, lots of great stuff! Would absolutely recommend.

We had a wonderful time in this campground. The host greeted us when we arrived and made check-in fast. Another person checked up on us to see if we needed more firewood. The restroom was clean, and our site is very close to the river. My kids enjoyed riding their bikes around the campground and playing at the play area. We'll definitely come back!

Very clean and safe location with private entrance. The common area is nicely shaded with trees and filled with games to spend a good time with friends and family. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Easy access to the Kern river. Lots of spots with decent shade where to place your tent. Really liked the sand over the entire campground; made it easy and safe to walk around barefooted. Clean restrooms and showers with hot and cold water. Truly had a good experience. The whole family enjoyed it. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for outdoor enjoyable fun and will definitely go back for more.
