Update:
Gonna have to pull it back 1.5 stars due to noise and caution. Seems like all the town folk with loud mufflers come to use the bathroom and they kinda look like they're scoping people out. Also the trains are noticeable.
No choice but to go 5 star after seeing the other options across the state. Stopped at 3 different places, wasted a lot of gas and time, just to see a camping rules sign coming in, then a bunch of "no camping" signs everywhere else with no clear places to set up. Have been very disappointed until this place.
Costs 18 bucks but if I did it over, I would have come straight here.
Huge open place. Easy to maneuver and have privacy.
Unfortunately the only other people here don't have common sense with their dogs, but other than that, exactly what I was looking for.
Beautiful site, but there's lots of spotted knapweed spread over much of the fishing access. This noxouis weed can be brought home on clothing and vehicles and spreads quickly. Trains run 4-5 per night.
Only thing that would make it better would be if they had potable water. Otherwise very nice spot right on the Yellowstone River. Well kept
Lot of camping spots even on a July Friday night. Nice view of Yellowstone river.
This is a beautiful and we'll maintained site. There is an occasional fright train that goes by but it didn't bother us. The dogs were in heaven. The toilet was surprisingly clean and even smelled fresh.
