Beautiful view of the ocean you have mini grills fire pits little electric plug ins right there for camper plus water hookup picnic tables you are only like 50 ft from ocean just gorgeous if in the area even if your not camping just look at the scenery breathtaking
This is an amazing campground. The spots are private and almost all right on the waterfront. The facilities are a little older, but clean and well-maintained. The location is peaceful and quiet. If you want a KOA-style campground with activities, Internet, spots laid out in a grid, etc. this is not for you. If you want a quiet place to relax and enjoy the water, this is it. There is no Internet and no cell service (except for patchy AT&T a couple of places). The campground has hot showers, a washer/dryer, full hookups for RV's or spots just for tents, and firewood for sale. My husband and I were planning to stay one night but stayed 3 because we loved it so much.
We found this campground to be very accommodating for tent campers. Sites were far enough apart to feel your had some privacy, and to look out over the tidal cove was an added plus. Shower facilities we're in need of maintenance and upgrades, but the water was hot and free. Very nice staff.
If you want to camp near Bar Harbor but hate crowds, this is a good place. Small campground with large sites. Some hookups, some rustic, some waterfront on an estuary. Only one bathroom. No set up for washing dishes. Can hear the traffic on RT 1 otherwise quiet. Inexpensive. As long as you aren't expecting lots of extras and you prefer simple camping, you won't be disappointed. Owner is pleasant. No WiFi, great cell reception.
Spacious sites, clean bathrooms, peaceful, and views of Joy Bay which fills and empties with the tides. The owner, Kathy, is a delightful, long time resident who can direct you to the local sites.
For me it was a bird lover and berry picker paradise (early August). The park must be on a fly way as each day different birds stopped through often eating berries from the trees.
