We rented a building and they were fine until the very last day. The building was DIRTY when we arrived. We cleaned it up and it looked so much nicer when we left then when we arrived. Apparently something happened on the grounds during our event - clearly we were not aware of this. If something happened, fine - then it is our responsibility to make it right. Instead of calmly confronting me, I was literally yelled and cussed at about something I knew nothing about and told lies about our event. She then told my mother a few days later that she would “apologize if she needed to.” Keep in mind she told my mother a COMPLETELY different story of what apparently happened than she did me. While she was yelling at me she also proceeded to tell me other rules that I was never told and that were not in the contract. It was poor service and completely inappropriate.
Madison county fair is second to none for rides and entertainment, the beer garden is huge with live music inside the garden this year! Great change!
From Columbus, get in some areas where people think it’s better than Platte County Fair. But, if you’re going for the rides and you want to get a bang for your bucks. This is not the place. I get more lines obviously means more people but the rides aren’t better just different. So find it not worth spending 3/4 the time there (we were there 4 hours) just waiting in lines. By the end of the night I was just over whelmed and upset I never got to do the 1 thing I wanted because the line was such a wait when it took away from everyone else getting to do a couple more things before it reached closing.
Went for the rodeo and paid $17 to get reserved seats. The rodeo was a joke, only about a third of the rodeo partisapants were there(no bull riders or barrel racers). Usually had commercial exhibits in one building and none this year. Used to be one of the best fairs to attend. If they don't do something different more people will quit attending. I doubt I will go again.
