Nice place for launching kayak, overnight camping, fishing.
Good river access. Camped there once on an overnight trip from Iowa Falls downstream 30 miles. Be prepared to carry out your trash: no garbage cans were there my last visit. Its a nice river to canoe as it supports a wide variety of wildlife.
I was in the Lower Cross Ford access. The entrance can trick you. It comes up quick and between a house driveway and bridge. You drive through some woods and you hit a clearing where you can camp. Towards the opposite side there is a kayak drop. Nothing fancy but works. We paddled from access 266 to here. Took a few hours of mostly floating. Water level and path was really nice. Lots of wildlife the day that I went.
