Overview: Power Plant Campground is near Atlanta, Idaho. There are 24 campsites located near the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Boise River. A trailhead offers access to the Sawtooth Wilderness, heading northeast into a lake-filled basin. The historic mining town of Atlanta is just south of the campground. Good fishing in the river for rainbow trout and whitefish.
From Lowman, ID, take State Rt. 21 south 15.5 miles to Crooked River and Edna Creek campground signs (Forest Rt. 384). Turn left onto Rt. 384 and go 6.2 miles to a "Y" intersection. Bear right, staying on Rt. 384, and go 7.6 miles to an intersection (Forest Rt. 327). Turn left onto Rt. 327, following signs to Atlanta, and go 13.1 miles to another intersection. Continue straight and go 9.9 miles to another "Y" intersection (Forest Rt. 268). Bear right onto Rt. 268 and go 5.4 miles through Atlanta, ID to Power Plant Recreation Area sign. Bear left and go 1.1 miles to campground.
