Very important to come in the ROY gate. NOT the MAIN GATE! The Roy Gate is on Wardleigh Road. Stay on Wardleigh Road (approximately 5 miles) until you come to the second stop light which is "E" Ave. Take a right (South) on "E" Avenue and go thru the next stop light until you come to a stop sign which is Balmer St. Take a left on Balmer St (East) until you come to the FamCamp
Maximum length of stay in April-October is 14 consecutive days except for those traveling on PCS orders. Long term stays are allowed October 15th-April 1st.
Super nice military campground on Hill AFB, with stunning mountain views and vistas down over Salt Lake. Bathrooms are nice and clean, there's a convenient little dog park right next to the campground, and a playground just on the other side of the dog park. Most sites are pull through, b UT I you're shorter you'll share a parking spot with another camper (back to back with separate hookups). If you love the sound of F-35s then you'll love being at Hill AFB, these jets fly throughout the day but thankfully not much in the evenings.
Except a little noise from the ✈ 🙉jets it is great. Nice level concrete pads. Pups loved the green grassy dog park. Of course there is always the lazy ones that won't pickup after their pups. Laundry wonderful to use after dry camping for a couple weeks.
Hill Aerospace Museum is worth the visit if you aren't in a hurry.
We love visiting the splash pad and park here! It's conveniently placed right when you first enter Hill AFB, and there are plenty of parking and camping spots for RVs. I personally haven't used the RV area, but there it looks great! There is also a nice restroom and a couple of pavilions by the park/splash pad area.
We used the Hill AFB South Gate Visitor Center to make sure our gps was routing us to the south gate which was open on a Sunday afternoon. The famcamp office was closed, but the camp host greeted us, gave us a map and information sheet, and directed us to our site. We had a pull through, 50 amp, full hookup site that was reasonably long and wide. The laundry room was clean, $1.00 per cycle. A cushioned track, play ground, splash pad, and shaded/fenced dog area are nearby. The RV park roads were easy to navigate with our truck and 5th wheel totalling 53 ft long.
Wonderfully kept up park, lots of new fun toys/ slides, swing sets, water park. Close to Gym, commissary, BX, other amenities. Halloween Trunk or treat was fun and nice to see the fire Department there with the new ladder Truck.
