The Harpers Ferry/Civil War Battlefields KOA is a fantastic vacation destination spot that's perfect for the whole family. Thanks to you, this year we received the 2016 KOA PRESIDENT'S AWARD. That means our campground facilities and camper satisfaction scores are some of the best around. We are making things even better in 2017! Our Specialty Coffee and Wine Store, GRAPES & GRINDS, has been a popular place for morning specialty coffees and afternoon wine tastings. Check our deluxe cabins with bathrooms and some with kitchens too! As always, our jumping pillow and giant inflatable are a hit with the kids.
And, as always, we still have all of the fun stuff you've come to love about our campground, like our junior Olympic Swimming Pool, Indoor and Outdoor Basketball Courts, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Game Room, Bark Zone Dog Park, and all-you-can-eat pancakes in season. So make your plans now to come and make some history all your own. See you soon!
Exit WV Highway 340 at entrance to Harpers Ferry National Park. Take first right, proceed to KOA.

Overall, a nice place! Proximity to Harpers Ferry NP is great, which is what we were here to do/see. They have a well stocked camp store and the staff is friendly and helpful. I think if you’re here in the summer, when all of the amenities are open, it could pretty fun/lively. Grapes and Grinds had odd-ish hours and I was bummed to miss it (I think it’s only open on the weekends “off
season” - not sure though since there are no posted hours anywhere). Their Wi-Fi works great and laundry, bath, and other public spaces are tidy. We stayed on a premium FHU site that seemed to be pretty new. It came with extra furniture (2 seater rocker and table w/4 Adirondack style chairs) that was so nice that we didn’t unpack ours, we just used theirs instead. I don’t have any great photos of the campground to share, so I’m including one of Harpers Ferry instead.
My family and I have been going here every year for the past 10years during Oct. KOA has Trick or Treating for the kids and a haunted house for the Month. They also have a playground, bounce pillow, mini golf and much more. Staff is friendly and helpful. Already booked again for next year!
The location is beautiful. We stayed last April on our way to in Virginia Beach. We only stayed one night but our site was appropriate, staff was courteous and helpful. We wish we had spent more time there!
We were in K105 the second year in a row. The bathroom faucet only had hot water, no cold. There were lights out. The mattress needs replaced.
The only short cut to get to the cabin is behind the registration building and down a hill. It’s dangerous for seniors to navigate that hill. Steps would really help.
There was no heat or maybe we just couldn’t find it. The activities for my grandchildren were great except the hayride which was free so I guess we shouldn’t complain.
A big disappointment is by Friday all cabins were booked for next year!
At the end of our stay last year 10/2022 we were able to book several cabins for this year 2023. When we asked about that the staff said we were just lucky so this year we were not able to book. When I asked staff when we should start calling to try to hope for cancellations she had no answer.
This is one of my favorite campgrounds! It is always a good time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are cleaned regularly. Most of the campers that go here are also friendly. If you have little kids they have plenty for them to do to stay busy.
