Me and my partner had an awesome time staying here for one night recently. The location is secluded and peaceful, and the views from the large windows of the forests and Mt Baker are magnificent. Sitting around the gas fire at night, and watching the clouds gradually reveal baker were worth the price alone.

On getting to the cabin: the handful of negative comments concerning the road surface are overblown in the extreme. Our city runaround (tired old Nissan Versa) had no problems at all on the gravel surface, and we are quite inexperienced drivers! :)

The location is great, it feels far from civilisation and natural, but also 5 minutes drive down the road you have a well stocked general store, an excellent mexican food truck and coffee. A further five minutes and you've got an ace brew pub that does pizza.

It's an easy drive from Vancouver, BC -- we'll be back.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the glacier suite. We’ve done a lot of traveling and this is the best lodging we ever found. So glad to have stumbled on in. It was a little piece of heaven that had everything we needed to comfortably enjoy that beautiful area of the world. Next time we visit Washington, we want to go straight to that cabin. No problem getting up the road in a Nissan Altima, btw.

I spent 4 days in the Glacier guest cabin in late September. I wanted a place to un-wind, un-plug, and rejuvenate. This place did it for me! It's a beautiful cabin located in the heart of the Mt Baker Wilderness (built by hand by the host, Bill). There is a small fridge, toaster, and microwave for meals (perfect). Cheerios, milk, and blueberry muffins baked by Bill's wife for you to enjoy every morning. There is also a wide variety of books and magazines to read in your downtime if you like. And, most importantly stunning views of Mt Baker! Bill and his family were gracious and helpful hosts. I wanted to do some hiking in the wilderness area and Bill invited me into his house and took the time to pull out maps and show me some great trails with breathtaking views. Bill is very knowledgeable about the area and the outdoors. I highly recommend Mt Baker View Lodging if you want to clear your head and enjoy hiking, skiing, kayaking, biking and more in the beautiful outdoor wilderness!

I just returned from a quiet, peaceful, and much-needed retreat in this wonderful rustic cabin. With an incredible view from the large picture windows, gas fireplace, comfy bed and wonderful blueberry muffins and other provisions for breakfast, this jewel is clean, private, and hosted by a lovely and accommodating family.

It would be a real shame to miss this jewel because of the few negative reviews. They are undoubtedly written with malicious intent by someone who never stayed there. Yes, as others have stated, the drive up to the cabin from the highway is indeed rough and might seem a bit daunting, but my Kia Optima made it with no problem at all. The idea that you need 4-wheel drive or that the road would tear up your car is ludicrous! I am already looking forward to my next visit!
