Coconino National Forest as a whole is absolutely beautiful. We love that the Coconino forest has so many dispersed camping spot. Many that have a lot of privacy and gorgeous views.
This is a most go! Marshall Lake and all that area beautiful. A hoot owl hung out a couple of nights. I didn't want to leave. All day up to 14 days FREEE. lakes, free range Angus, camping, nice camp fire set ups.
The fall colors are amazing right now. The leaves are red, orange and yellow and rock faves are red and white. The dry river bed rocks are white, pink, red and more colors. It's dry! Bring water and your climbing legs to get to the inspiring views.
What an excellent first experience with Dispersed Camping!! Found the spots in pitch black, thankfully, and there was a gorgeous little spot waiting for us and our van.. Respectful and kind neighbors, and the best nature has to offer, for free! Check out the rules before you go, but don't waste a dollar paying for a spot unless you really need power and water hookups 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
