Awesome place to go if you can. I had to use 4 wheel drive during the switchbacks, but everything else was easy in 2 wheel drive. Don't plan on doing a lot of walking around if you are from lower elevation like me. I am in pretty good shape, but sucked lots of air just trying to look around. Drink lots of water!
The Alpine Loop was a great ride! We stayed in Lake City and rode different passes each day. Beautiful! There are several adrenaline inducing switchbacks and rock crawling along VERY steep drops.
Breathtaking views for hours! I wish I knew about this earlier in life! If you have a Jeep, Bronco or Side by Side, you have to make the trip to Colorado and experience the Alpine Loop
