This campground is beautiful and well-kept. There are a few places where you can get down to the river, but mostly you just view it from up above through the trees, very pretty.
I didn’t see any place for swimming, so I don’t think that’s really an option here, mainly fishing. The people working here really try to do a great job and even asked how I thought the bathrooms were. For most of the tent sites, you will go down a few steps to get to the tent pad, which is nice and shady.
It’s a bit of a drive from town, but easy to follow the map. They close the gate at 10 PM, I’m not sure if that’s firm so you might want to check on it but good to know if you’re coming in late.
When we were there, it was a heat wave and lots of storms and rain so we didn’t get to enjoy the area as much as we will next time we go.
CAUTION----The sites were nice; however the trails (with benches) from the sites to water are not maintained at all. Biggest complaint though is that they lock the camp gate at 10 pm and it is not disclosed if you make reservations in advance. This was a huge problem for us as we were locked in and had an issue with our camping gear and needed to leave! I have never had a campground lock the gates and I don't think that they should be able to do that given that there can be medical emergencies!
Absolutely beautiful campground and so peaceful. The staff is amazing! They go above and beyond to help campers. We look forward to going back each year.
There are electric hook and water hook. In addition, there is a clean and warm restroom. This is my first time of car camping. My husband and I were satisfied with new experience.
Tent camping: Fantastic campground if you like to feel secluded. It was so nice to be far away from others. The campground was so very clean. They blow them off and prep them for your arrival.
The water access and power it was available to every site was awesome.
My only complaint would be that the bathrooms were a little far away.
A lot of wildlife visited us all night.
(We did see a rattlesnake, but it was far from the camping area. It was about 5 feet long. It had 6 buttons on its rattle.)
We will be going there again.
