About Campground

A camper's delight

Chinook Bend is a destination, not a one night stand. It's a one of a kind place for the fortunate few. People come to Chinook Bend and they never want to leave.

Though primarily a membership park, our campgrounds are also open to the public. We can accommodate RV's, trailers, tents, and any combination of them.

For those "true" Western types, we also allow horses on our campgrounds. So bring your family, friends, pets, and fishing poles to the place you'll never want to leave.

There are no rooms. You bring your own rv or tent. They have little cabins for rent, but we do not rent those. We bring our Coach to stay in. Ok...so here's the deal....I don't like RV'ing. My husband loves this place because he has a membership here and he is an avid fisherman. He keeps our RV parked there and goes fishing during Chinook season. His fishing buddies also stay here. I rate this place highly because the staff are so friendly and helpful. There are no riff raff and the staff patrols the area regularly. I am always able to find someone if I need help with my internet access or whatever. The other RVers are also so friendly and form a nice little community. We all share food, activities and great conversation. I love this place because I love my husband and seeing him relaxed and happy makes me happy. Is it MY dream location??? No. While my husband fishes I go toodle around Lincoln City or Newport or take our dogs to the beach. I always find fun things to do on my own. Fortunately our RV is very comfortable with a nice bathroom so sometimes I just stay in it and read a book or watch TV. Overall it's a tad too rustic for me, but since my husband loves it....it's a 5 star in my book.

Stayed during the heat dome, it was a fantastic experience, endless space so never going to get turned away for tent camping, has miles and miles of trails, petting zoo, showers and RV (full) hookups. Seriously couldnt ask for more! The kindest people run it too. Highly recommend!!

I loved the cabin. The people were so friendly. They really bent over backwards to help in any way they could. I can't wait to go back! 😁 Thank you to Terra, Sam, Chris, Ben, and John, and everyone else for the fantastic vacation. Hope to see you all next year.

Our first time camping here and the staff was amazing! The views are absolutely breathtaking and the area is so beautiful. My two kids 5&10 were outside in the field playing the entire time we were there. The staff gave us an amazing spot right by the river and were very accommodating for all our questions. We are already planning our next trip out.

This was a wonderful place to rent camp. Lots of RVs are here as well. The river is beautiful and the area filled with wildlife. Salmon, small feeder fish, river otters, seals, hawks, osprey, elk and more.

The dock has a boat launch. Payment is required to launch and to dock boats. Pricing is in the low to middle range. You can fish from the dock and you can troll down towards the bridge for some majestic scenery.

The staff are the kindest and roughest (in the best way) people I have met and made me feel like a local. They freely speak of the area's history, fishing, businesses, families, and personal storytelling.

The fog and morning dew can be heavy in the mornings. Bring your rain fly and cover your items! The dew will soak camping equipment. It all dries out by 10 or 11 when the sun. Our shoes suffered the first night but dried out fast enough.

They rent boats to troll for fish. Decent price. Family friendly. No one was overly rowdy and the guests were respectful of each other's space. Sometimes the guests dogs would roam off leash, a few roamed very far, which concerned me considering small children are around, nothing a small hollering couldn't fix.

We will be back again.
