I'm going here for my first camping trip, bsa troop 4014 in 2 days, it's going to be SO FUN
Edit: it was all I could ask for and more! Tents, nice people, good weather, fun challenges, plenty of rope burn and overall a great time
We went for a cub scout overnight trip. The boys had so much fun and the staff is AWESOME! We are definitely going back.
Camp Thunderbird hosts a wide variety of sessions as well as activities. They host OA training, NYLT, Woodbadge, Cub Scout Camp, Trail to First Class, and more. On campus they have lake access and a private swimming hole, parade field, and housing and eating accommodations. Dirrectly across the road, still part of camp, is the shooting range. All in all an amazing experience, a big contributor being the friendly staff and amazing food.
Scout campout lawn was great for pitching up tents several buildings bathroom facilities covered picnic shelter with lights & electricity amphitheater with fire pit
I went to Camp Thunderbird for Wood Badge training (adult leadership). The facilities were nice and the staff was even nicer. It was the BEST leadership training I have had in my adult life. Be sure to have bug spray...they are by a lake.
