Via U.S. 395, turn west in Lone Pine on Whitney Portal Road, 1-mile to Tuttle Creek Road, turn south to campground entrance.
Very nice campground. Shade, creek, clean bathrooms and can't beat the incredible view!
As people have mentioned this is a bare bones campsite. Some spots are bigger than others and some have large trees overhanging them making it hard for larger rigs to utilize.
With that being said, most of the spots are well shaded, bathrooms were clean, stream running through the middle was very relaxing.
On a side note, there are a few local dogs, not sure if they're stays or not, that poke around the site from time to time making it not the best if you have a smaller dog. Also, decent amount of ants so just be aware and shake off your gear before packing up.
Great cheap campground. Half of the spots are reservations only. The other half is first come, first served.
Campsites have pit toilets and one water spigot that people come from all over to fill their water jugs. Each site has a fire pit, bbq, and picnic table. A stream runs all year round through the center of the campground. Trash and recycling facilities are on site, but we're overloaded and not emptied for the week we were there. You can take off-road trails from your site.
