The state is creating excessive thousands of tons worth of excess carbon emmissions by forcing people to drive long distances to designated campsites, or to drive 20 miles from Moab for free camping during their Moab stay.
Now a part of utah raptor sate park- NOT free camping any more- they made it less primitive with portapotties and trash dumpsters. Still a decent spot for camping near town but a bummer it’s not free anymore
Great free camping, very secluded and plenty of lots for car or tent camping, many have already built fire rings. The road getting in has a few big potholes so just go slow. Very close to arches park and anything else you want in Moab.
This isn't free anymore. It's now a part of Utahraptor State Park. There's a QR code at entry where you can pay for camping, $15 a night. Dispersped camping. Easy to follow the road and signs. Portapotties all around. First come first served sites, marked by fire pits. Looked like plenty of space to me but I went in July during slow season. This is as close as it gets to Arches National Park. Maybe a 5 minute drive max to the entry of the park.
