Wow! Seriously this area is so beautiful! Great simple camping, the only thing negative I can say is we did have a small issue with another group being loud after quiet hours but I called and left a VM and the park host took care of it. Great trout fishing the park is right on the river. Our camp was only maybe 20 feet from the river (Tolby campsite #6). It is also super close to the town of Red River/Eagle Nest and a short (beautiful) drive through the Carson National Park. We will be going back!

Gorgeous! Beautiful park that follows a river through Cimarron Canyon. Tons of places to pull over and picnic, hike, fish, camp etc. Lots of wildlife in the area; we saw deer, turkeys, hawks, and bear. Day use to pull over and park was only $5, so I would say very much worth the price to support New Mexico State Parks!

We drove through this park on our way to Red River, NM. We so enjoyed seeing the aspens and cottonwood in their yellow splendor. We stopped often to take pictures and to view the canyon walls. There were plenty of places to pull out and larger areas next to streams. There were also hiking trails galore. It was relaxing and beautiful.
